Outer Wilds, the action-adventure game from Mobius Digital, was a massive success when it released back in May of last year. It garnered high critical acclaim, and even went on to be nominated for many Game Of The Year awards. There’s a group of people who have been waiting for the game to come to Steam to pick it up though, and it has been over a year. Thankfully though, it appears your wait is finally over. As announced on Annapurna Interactive and Mobius Digital’s social media, Outer Wilds has officially arrived on Steam. To go with the launch, you can purchase the game at 33% off.
Outer Wilds has you as the newest recruit of Outer Wilds Ventures, a space program looking to answer the universe’s mysteries. Why are there ruins on the moon? What lurks in the Dark Bramble? The most daunting mystery of all is the time loop. The universe is stuck in an endless loop, and scientists have yet to answer this strange phenomenon, and that’s where you come in. As the newest recruit, it’s your job to head to the farthest reaches of space and put an end to this once and for all. Will you be able to put an end to the loop, or will you be trapped to the infinite loop like the rest of us?
Given its stature, there’s no doubt that Outer Wilds is a compelling game. The initial impressions on Steam are pretty solid too. There have only been 50 reviews, but 96% of them are already positive. It also has its previous commendations, winning Game Of The Year awards from Polygon, Giant Bomb, Eurogamer, and The Guardian. That’s not even including nominations, so there’s no doubt this is a game you have to try.
