Paddington is going to return to the big screen for his third film. In a new announcement, Paddington 3 has an official title with a director set to helm the movie. Paddington in Peru will be directed by Dougal Wilson, making it his directorial debut. Previously, he had made commercials for companies like Apple, BBC, and Ikea.
Of course, this is filmmaking, so Paddington 3 will only partially be shot in Peru. London will also be a location when principal photography starts next year.
Paul King directed the previous two films. He is currently going to direct Wonka with Dune‘s Timothée Chalamet as a young Willy Wonka. The director gave his thoughts on the beloved little bear and his blessing to Wilson.
Paddington 3 Goes to Peru
The first two films were highly acclaimed, even to the point of being referenced in other films like this year’s The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. The two entries have grossed over $500 million, with the first movie bringing in over $280 million with its sequel grossing over $225 million.
No word is out on who is returning for the third film. With Ben Whishaw being the voice of the little bear, he should be expected to reprise the role again.
