Project Spark was initially announced back at E3 2013, with Microsoft revealing an intriguing game creation tool that could be played on multiple platforms and devices. It seemed like a pretty cool idea as players could create their own worlds and share them with friends, and they even tried to throw Conker into the mix before ultimately cancelling the content. However, the project never caught on and Microsoft revealed earlier this year that the servers would be shutting down in August....

Microsoft’s Xbox One took over first place in the monthly NPDs in November and December, but PlayStation 4 reclaimed its position at the top in January and continued to stay ahead of the Xbox One in February as well. However, while PlayStation 4 had another fantastic month, it was outpaced by a somewhat surprise competitor, the Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo released the much anticipated New Nintendo 3DS XL in the US on February 13 to exceptional first week sales and they kept those sales numbers going throughout the month....

Fans of Overwatch’s Arcade Mode will be glad to hear that custom game support for the mode is in the works, allowing the players to play around with the rules a bit and bring their friends along for the ride. This information was confirmed by the game’s director Jeff Kaplan on the official Overwatch forums, though it was in response to questions from fans. Kaplan did not detail fully how this would work or all of the modes that would be supported, but he did confirm that 1v1 duels would be supported....

The highly anticipated western port of the crossover game, Persona Q: Shadow Of The Labyrinth has set a North American release date and managed to release the opening movie showcasing the memorable characters that fans are excited to meet all over again. Persona Q utilizes characters from Persona 4 and Persona 3 while introducing two new characters. The plot involves the Persona groups hearing a bell and being warped and for lack of a better term, imprisoned within Yasogami High School....

Phantasy Star Online 2 will soon begin its closed beta in early February. Those that participate in the closed beta will retain their progress for the full release and earn special rewards. Phantasy Star Online 2 is a free-to-play action RPG developed by Sega. It first released in Japan for the PC in 2012, and up until now has only been available to play in Asia. That changed at E3 2019, where it was announced that Phantasy Star Online 2 would release worldwide exclusively on Xbox One and PC....

Platinum Games would like to work again on Scalebound, said President Atsushi Inaba, in a recent interview with Eurogamer Portugal. The Japanese developer is currently working on The Wonderful 101: Remastered, which has been successfully funded on Kickstarter. Three more projects are expected to be revealed “soon,” as part of the more significant Platinum 4 agenda announced earlier this week. When asked about Scalebound, Inaba reminded Eurogamer Portugal that this is “an intellectual property that belongs 100% to Microsoft....

PlayStation UK has revealed that the brand will act as one of the official sponsors of London’s Pride celebrations in support of the LGBT community. The festivities will take place in the capital of the United Kingdom from June 24th to July 9th, and will attract thousands of visitors who will feel supported by one of the most relevant brands in videogame culture. Since the announcement was done through social media, it is unclear how much presence is the brand planning to have during the festivities, although one of the members of PlayStation Access, Holly Bennet, has confirmed the assistance of the team of PlayStation experts to the celebrations, which probably indicates some kind of public event in which the brand will showcase their latest products....

The end might be near for the PS3 console as PlayStation New Zealand will stop support for the system. As reported by ThoseGamers, PlayStation New Zealand sent out a statement confirming that it will no longer ship PS3 consoles to retail stores in the country. However, PS3 peripherals, new releases and back catalogue software will still be supported in New Zealand. This just means no more new PS3 consoles will be entering the country....

We’ve come to the end of September (insert Green Day joke here), so it’s time for Microsoft and Sony to reveal what free games they’ll be handing out to their subscribers next month. Microsoft took first dibs on October 2015, presenting The Walking Dead and Valiant Hearts for Xbox Live Games with Gold. Today Sony has revealed the PlayStation Plus free games for October 2015. The six games include some real favorites, mostly on the indie gaming side of the industry....

Sony and their PlayStation Store have been on a roll over much of the last month, with a number of fantastic sales for all three PlayStation platforms. This week is still a fantastic one for PlayStation 3 owners that are fans of the Resident Evil, Grand Theft Auto, or Rock Band series, but the most disappointing aspect is that there are zero games for PlayStation 4 and only one for PS Vita....

We didn’t get the PSPhone announcement that we expected but got a mobile announcement just the same at this years PlayStation Conference. Sony will be introducing the PlayStation Suite which will bring PlayStation content to Android devices as well as power the content delivery service for the PSP2. As for the Android devices, they will be able to play PSOne titles out of the gates. Sony is looking to capture the burgeoning mobile market in this move with the PlayStation Suite....

The PlayStation Vita saw a signifciant upswing in sales in Japan this week following the release of Persona 4 The Golden. The Vita sold twice as many units at around 35k and analysts are correlating that increase to the release of Persona 4 The Golden, as it was the top-selling game in Japan as well. The new handheld title edged out titles like Lollipop Chainsaw, Tokyo Jungle, and Dragon Quest Monsters, to show that Japanese gamers are still waiting for software to drive them into stores to buy the Vita....

Pokémon: Twilight Wings fifth episode has been delayed due to logistical issues deriving from the COVID-19 outbreak in Japan, it was announced today. The episode was expected to air in May, following a monthly schedule that has started in the middle of January and is supposed to be ending during the summer. However, the fifth episode won’t be available until June 5, Pokémon has revealed today through its official Japanese Twitter account....
