After a long period of relative silence, Park Beyond publisher Bandai Namco revealed a new trailer for the upcoming theme park simulator game at Gamescom 2022. Along with a few cinematic snippets, the trailer also went on to showcase many of the new rides and buildings the player can come to expect in the full game. Customization will be an active component behind every aspect of the game design. The developers are determined that players be free to customize their Park however they like, using the vast array of tools provided to them.

The developers promise that players can easily “swap out pieces, trade decorations, build custom structures from scratch,” and much more. This, of course, extends to the rides themselves. The game’s modular system allows players “to easily tweak the track’s inclinations, yaw, pitch, roll, and loops.” Park Beyond features “thousands of assets split into various themes such as a Western theme, a DaVinci theme, etc.” All are built to encourage a “mix-and-match” playstyle.

Park Beyond looking beyond 2022

This was later accompanied by a blog post after the Park Beyond trailer Gamescom debut, in which the publisher went into further detail. “This new trailer shows off three new coaster modules you’ll be able to thrill your guests with. Starting with the fork, which sends carts scattering across multiple diverging tracks. The whimsical see-saw flips tracks up and down to swap paths instantly. And, of course, the reverse bumper that sends your guests through the entire coaster backward! Creating coasters has never been this smooth or this fun!”

However, Bandai Namco declared that Park Beyond had been delayed to 2023. This means players, unfortunately, are not going to be building parks anytime soon. The extra time is intended to allow the developers to polish the game for a smooth day one launch. No specific release date has yet been revealed.
