As of now, Percy Jackson fans might have to wait for Disney+’s TV series of Percy Jackson. In a post discussing the production, author Rick Riordan admitted that the stated 2023 release for Percy Jackson and the Olympians seems unlikely. He then went on to say in the post,
Following that breakdown, Riordan speculated that post-production would happen around early 2023. He then explained that the editorial process would require dubbing, subtitling, and making the series accessible for everyone, which would then require a few more months. Given this entire explanation, he said the air date for Disney+’s Percy Jackson would be around early 2024. However, he also admitted that Disney ultimately decides the release date.
Disney+’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians”: A Loveable Series So Far
Despite the delay with Percy Jackson, most (if not all) of the cast has been decided. The Adams Project’s Walker Scobell stars as Percy himself, while Leah Sava Jeffries stars as Annabeth Chase. Aryan Simhadri will play Percy’s satyr friend, Grover Underwood. Set photos for these series were dropped in early July. This also revealed that the famous Camp Half-Blood would be filed in Canada, along with Vancouver-based practical sets.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians are now set to premiere on Disney + sometime in 2024. Author and producer Rick Riordan are known to give updates on the series’ progress from his Twitter and official website.
