Sometimes, when you’re investigating a series of haunted locations, the things you can experience that are even scarier than the menagerie of spirits and ghouls that inhabit those locations are bugs. The team over at Kinetic Games knows that just as much as anyone, and it comes as no surprise to learn that the latest update for Phasmophobia, released earlier today, focuses largely on squashing bugs. Detailed in a long list on the game’s Steam page, Kinetic Games aims to strike while the iron is still hot on Phasmophobia’s popularity and improve on the game’s overall quality by focusing on bug-fixes and alterations to the game’s behavior.

That’s not to say that this update doesn’t have new features and its own, however. One such change in this update is the introduction of options in the settings menu, with mono sound and dedicated network port options being useful quality-of-life additions for those who would benefit from them. You can now also select the difficulty of the contract so that it isn’t randomized and see the average sanity level of the investigation team that is relevant to the behavior of the spirit that hunts you. There are also improvements to ghost AI in the update, as well as optimizations to equipment that you use to collect information on the ghost.
