Thanks to the wild success surrounding Fortnite‘s crossover events, it seems all live service games want in on the cake as well. On today’s E3 2021 Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase live stream, Microsoft has announced that Captain Jack Sparrow of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean will be coming to Sea of Thieves Season Three on June 22. Titled Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life, the content will be free for all players on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 PC or via Steam, or players who have access to it with Xbox Game Pass.
Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life is said to be the most ambitious story-driven campaign expansion to date. The Xbox E3 2021 trailer shows you and your merry band of pirates will have to help free Jack Sparrow from his prison and fend off his old enemy, the notorious Davy Jones. Jack himself has stolen the world’s greatest Pirate Treasure which Jones and his army are also looking for. Failing to keep the treasure safe and defeat Jones will obviously spell disaster for the pirate world.
While you can get the chance to explore memorable locations from both the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise and park attractions, Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life will also add new enemies for future updates as well. From the terrifying and swift Phantoms, Sirens armed with weapons of their own, to lumbering Ocean Crawlers. Sea of Thieves’ creative director Mike Chapman ensures that the new content’s narrative will remain true to the fantastical spirit of both universes:
Just as to remind you, Sea of Thieves Season Three update including A Pirate’s Life will be available for free to all players who have bought the game on Xbox consoles, on PC, or anyone who has access to it with Xbox Game Pass this June 22. Ready to set sail with Captain Jack Sparrow?
