The DNA Manipulator is a device in Planet Crafter that players can assemble and use to create new genetically modified Trees. To construct the DNA Manipulator, players will need Super Alloy, a Bioplastic Nugget, Explosive Powder, Zeolite, and Osmium. Super Alloy is made by combining Cobalt, Iron, Magnesium, Silicon, Titanium, and Aluminium at an Advanced Craft Station. Bioplastic Nuggets can be found in Crates or crafted in the Biolab using a Water Bottle, Silicon, and two Mushrooms. Explosive Powder is made in the Biolab and requires Iridium and two stacks of Sulfur. Zeolite is a particular mineral that is harvestable after reaching Flora, and Osmium can be mined in caves or looted from Crates. 

Using the DNA Manipulator in Planet Crafter

As noted above, the DNA Manipulator in Planet Crafter serves as a workstation for creating new types of Tree Seeds with enhanced Oxygen-production capabilities. For instance, if players feed Tree bark, a Mutagen, and a Mutagen T2 into the machine, it will produce the Tree Seed Shreox, which grows into a plant with an Oxygen multiplier of 450%.

According to YouTuber Timien, the DNA Manipulator’s genetically modified seeds can be placed into Tree Spreaders in Planet Crafter. Keep in mind that a Tree Spreader must be placed in the water, while Tree Spreaders T2 and T3 can be built on the land. As players can see in the index above, all of the DNA Manipulator’s recipes require Tree Bark and a Mutagen. Tree Bark is obtained from Biodome T2, which unlocks after users have Heat reaches 12.00 μK. Mutagens are a resource crafted in Biolab. Once players have two material and a particular Tree Seed, they can mutate the seed in the DNA Manipulator in Planet Crafter.
