Sony held its State of Play in September, but the PS4 and PS5 gamers may soon get another significant event. There are indications that a PlayStation Showcase will take place in October. And they are possibly revealing titles like Final Fantasy 16 and the long-rumored new Silent Hill games. Following recent remarks by Final Fantasy XVI creator Yoshi P, fans are now hoping for an October 2022 PlayStation Showcase.

October 2022 PlayStation Showcase Is On the Way

The Tokyo Games Show, Apple’s Keynote last week, Disney and Marvel’s games showcase, and Nintendo’s most recent Nintendo Direct have all flooded social media. Sony’s decision to delay PlayStation Showcase to ensure that its titles are in the limelight makes sense given the game announcements that have occurred recently.

On the other hand, the producer of FF16 announced a new trailer and said the release date should be coming in October while speaking on stage at Tokyo Game Show.

“I’m not sure how much I’m allowed to say, but I think we’ll probably be able to release the next trailer next month or so,” Yoshi P said at the show. “And after that, I hope to be able to give a rough idea of when it will be released.”

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and other much anticipated PlayStation titles, fans may expect additional information. Following its most recent narrative trailer release during this September’s State of Play, God Of War: Ragnarok may appear. Sony may also show additional gameplay before the game’s scheduled release date of November 9, 2022.

If you do not know yet, Forspoken will be released in January 2020, and that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Final Fantasy 16 will be available in 2023.

There have been persistent rumors that the Silent Hill series is ready to make a major comeback. Recent leaks indicated that a brand-new mainline Silent Hill game and a Silent Hill 2 remake were being developed as PS5 exclusives.

Metal Gear Solid is also predicted to make a significant comeback with HD remakes of the original games rumored to be in development. Since this year marks the 35th anniversary of the Metal Gear Solid series, a 2022 announcement on the long-rumored remasters appears possible.
