Timed Research

Community Day falls on April 23 during Sustainability Week and lasts from 10am to 8pm local time. Players can complete Timed Research tasks based around walking distance, with a Cherubi being available as an encounter every 1 kilometer. For every player that walks at least 5 kilometers during Community Day, Niantic states that they will plant a tree.

There are two main Pokémon being featured during Sustainability Week, Oranguru and Cherubi. Trainers will have the ability to catch both of these Pokémon in the Wild and hatch them from 7-kilometer Eggs. Cherubi will also be available to encounter from Lures and Field Research Tasks. Players should also note that it is possible to catch Cherubi in its shiny form for the first time during this event.
