If you want to find Giratina in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you have to finish the main story. Otherwise, the quest “On the Trail to Giratina” won’t become available.

Once you’re finished with the main game, head over to Jubilife Village. When you arrive, the request from Professor Laventon should automatically trigger.

Now, here’s where some players get confused. Although the quest says that a shadow was spotted in Cobalt Coastlands, you won’t see any shadows when you go there. So, you’ll want to stay in the area and head to Turnback Cave. This is at Spring Path. To enter the cave, simply fly down there using Braviary.

When all those conditions are met, you can find Giratina waiting for you to catch in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Now that you’ve found Giratina, it’s time to catch them. By now, you’ve already encountered one in your fight against Volo. So, you should know just how to whittle down the health of this Ghost/Dragon Pokémon (who, by the way, is at Level 70).

You can use any Fairy-type Pokémon; you have to lower Giratina’s stats so that they’re easier to handle. Just make sure not to defeat Giratina in battle, as this will also mark an end to the quest.

Professor Laventon will reward you with a Griseous Core when you do catch them. With this item, you can use it to transform your newly captured Giratina into their Origin Form.
