Pokémon Unite will launch its first balance update on August 4, so here’s everything that’s being changed and added with this update! While majorly focusing on nerfs and buffs for a range of characters, there are a few bug fixes being thrown in as well. It’s also worth noting that while the characters receiving a round of buffs and nerfs have been revealed, the exact amount each thing is being changed was not specified. That’s considerably frustrating, but I suppose it’s better than nothing. Without further adieu, here’s everything changing in the August 4 update for Pokémon Unite!

Snow Warning

Admittedly, the changes in Pokémon Unite’s August 4 balance patch are rather strange. On the one hand, some characters who are considered menaces among the community (looking at you Gengar) are actually receiving buffs primarily. It’s an odd move by Nintendo, though it’s hard to tell exactly what they entail. This brings me on to my next point, being that the details of everything are incredibly vague. Sure, you could say “Damage dealt to opposing Pokémon increased.” but that stat is meaningless without any sort of exact number behind it. This could easily mean either 5%, 50%, or 500%, and we’d have no clue until we hop in-game. And even then, unless you’re already aware of exact stats pre-patch, the best you can do is an estimate. Still, I suppose knowing what’s been changed is better than nothing.

Pokémon Unite is available on Nintendo Switch, with the August 4 patch hitting this Wednesday. For more information regarding this patch, check out the official blog post.
