The best counters against Palkia in Pokemon GO
It’s the end of another big month of Pokemon GO events, which means it’s time for a brand new legendary raid. For February 2019 the boss featured in legendary raids around the world will be the Water/Dragon type Palkia from Gen 4. While the last few raid bosses haven’t put up much of a challenge, or were returning foes, this will be a new and interesting fight for trainers. To help out here’s how to beat Palkia with the best counters in Pokemon GO.
While Palkia is a dual-type, there’s really only one you need to focus on: Dragon. The best counters against Palkia focus in on this type, since it can be a big weakness with the right Pokemon. Below are the best attackers against Palkia, including their ideal moveset for the matchup.
Rayquaza – Dragon Tail and Outrage Dragonite – Dragon Tail and Outrage or Draco Meteor Palkia – Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor Salamence – Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor Latios – Dragon Breath and Dragon Claw Latias – Dragon Breath and Outrage
A few other options that hit the right type counters are Gardevoir and Togekiss, though they won’t be dealing out the most damage. If you have 3-5 trainers in the battle, I’d stay focused on the ones above, especially the first three. With more people you can relax a little bit and try different matchups. Weather won’t play a huge role in Palkia raids, so don’t worry too much about it in your team picks.
