Dusclops is a Ghost-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO. From Duskull using 25 candies, Dusclops later evolved into Dusknoir using the Sinnoh Stone item and 100 candies. Despite not having very high attack power, Dusclops makes up for it with considerable defense stats, making it a formidable tank in your party. Whether you’re looking to use Dusclops in the Great League or during raids, knowing more about the Pokemon’s moveset, strengths and weaknesses will help you win. This guide provides information on the best Movesets and various Counters for Dusclops in Pokemon GO.
The Best Movesets and Counters for Dusclops in Pokemon GO
The best moveset to use with Dusclops in Pokemon GO is Hex and Shadow Punch. Between Hex’s increased EPS, similar DPS stats to Feint Attack and Same-Type Attack Bonus, it’s overall a more practical choice between the two Quick Moves. Similarly, while Shadow Punch deals less damage than a move like Return, it deals a considerable amount of damage with similar energy consumption to Fire Punch and Ice Punch. However, if you’re looking to counter specific Pokemon types and require an Ice or Fire move, taking one of the two Punch moves is also viable. In contrast, if you’re fighting a Psychic-type Pokemon, Hex and Shadow Punch will go a long way towards dishing out some extra damage.
What Counters Dusclops?
Since Dusclops is a Ghost-type, it is weak against Dark-type and other Ghost-type moves. Both of these types deal 160% increased damage during battles. However, Dusclops is also resistant to four different types, with two of them only inflicting 39% of their regular damage. With this in mind, the following Pokemon are examples of those that are strong against Dusclops in Pokemon GO:
- Calyrex (Shadow Rider): Confusion and Shadow Ball
- Chandelure: Hex and Shadow Ball
- Gengar: Hex or Lick and Shadow Ball
- Darkrai: Snarl and Shadow Ball or Dark Pulse
- Hydreigon: Bite and Brutal Swing
- Weavile: Snarl and Foul Play
Alongside being weak against Dark-type and Ghost-type attacks, Dusclops is resistant to four types in Pokemon GO:
- Poison (63%)
- Bug (63%)
- Normal (39%)
- Fighting (39%)
If you’re using Dusclops during battles, use the Pokemon to absorb damage from one of the four types above while inflicting some back. Since Dusclops is a tanky Pokemon, you primarily want to keep your other damage-dealing Pokemon alive while whittling down your opponent. Furthermore, if you’re up against a Psychic-type Pokemon that is weak to Ghost-types, you may get enough damage to secure a few wins. Just be sure to steer clear of matchups against other Ghost-type Pokemon or Dark-types to avoid them cutting through Dusclops’ defences.
