On November 10th, 2018, a cartridge of Pokemon Let’s Go was data-mined by @Kaphotics. This individual put it upon themselves to release specific information about the game early, which is a shame due to how new the Switch still is. Luckily, there has been no story information leaked so this will be spoiler free. Of what has been shown to the public, there will be 60 TMs available in the game. This means that there will be 10 more abilities in the game than in the original Pokemon Yellow.

Going along with these new TMs is a list of 14 brand new moves being introduced into the game. The most interesting of these is a move named “Pika Papow”, which will likely be Pikachu’s main attack with the Let’s Go Pikachu version. With these additions brings in some move buffs as well! A few examples of these include Absorb doing 40 damage instead of 20, while Solar Beam now does 200 damage instead of 120.

It seems rare Pokemon will be available to catch in the wild as well. A Trainer in the Viridian Forest states,

The implications of this are astronomical. Gone is the need to trade Pokemon to catch all 150, but you now have the chance to find them all in the wild. Kurt states he’s unsure what makes them spawn, but they are not on the regular encounter table. It is likely you will need a specific item to bring out the rare monsters. There’s good news for shiny hunters though! Kurt goes on to say,

As of this being written, there are more leaks being put out by the hour. Who knows what else Pokemon Let’s Go will bring us? The game comes out on November 16th, 2018 on the Nintendo Switch.
