With the release of the newest entry in the Pokemon franchise, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can start hunting Pokemon once again in different eras and locations. As part of any Pokemon game, evolving your already tamed Pokemon is necessary to progress through the game and enjoy the combats. Lechonk is one of the early Pokemon you will get in the game, and here is how to evolve it into Oinkologne in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Evolving Lechonk into Oinkologne in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Lechonk is one of the early Normal-type Pokemon you get early in the game. It can be found in the East and South Provinces of Area 1 and getting it wouldn’t be much trouble. Evolving this Pokemon can help you a lot in the early stages of the game.

There are two types of Lechonk in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and both evolve into Oinkologne at level 18 through training. Since it is the beginning of the game, you have a lot of time to evolve them.

Depending on whether the Lechonk you are training is male or female, they will have some differences. Male Lechonk has larger ears that cover their eyes and also have darker hides, while female Lechonk has frayed tail, smaller ears, and brighter facial color. Both of them can evolve into Oinkologne with training once they reach level 18.

The mutual ability of both male and female Oinkologne is the Thick Fat ability which makes them 50% more resistant to Fire and Ice-type moves. Male Oinkologne has two separate abilities known as Gluttony and Lingering Aroma.

Gluttony held Berries earlier when their health drops below 50% while Lingering Aroma changes an opposing Pokemon’s Ability to Lingering Aroma on physical contact respectfully. The female Oinkologne has an Aroma Veil instead of a Lingering Aroma.

Aroma Veil protects the creature from certain attacks by blocking them. When you are evolving your Lechonk into Oinkologne, you can choose which of these abilities serves you best and then select and train them to become more powerful.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is now available for Nintendo Switch.
