Pokémon UNITE’s first anniversary of launch will arrive on July 21, 2022, and to celebrate, the Pokémon Company has announced a slew of events and updates that will be coming this month and in September. The Pokémon UNITE anniversary event will see the addition of six new Pokémon to the game from July 21 through September, new game modes, the start of Battle Pass Season 9, and a full anniversary-themed event for new and old players to enjoy!

Pokémon UNITE Anniversary Event, New Pokémon, Game Modes, and More
The new trailer for Pokémon UNITE went over the details of what players can expect for the popular MOBA’S first anniversary. Chief among the announcements is the addition of new Pokémon to the fray.
Three new Pokémon will be joining Pokémon UNITE soon, starting with the Fresh Snow Pokémon Glaceon on July 21, 2022, anniversary day! Glaceon will be the second Eeveelution available in Pokémon UNITE, after Espeon and Sylveon. Trainers will be able to harness Glaceon’s freezing force and take part in the Icy Glaceon Challenge running from Thursday, July 21, at 12:00 a.m. PDT to Sunday, August 14, 2022, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. Players can earn Glaceon’s UNITE License by completing the necessary missions.
Next up, the Ultra Beast Buzzwole will be arriving on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, and the Armor Pokémon Tyranitar will arrive on Monday, August 15, 2022. Check back for more information about these new Pokémon’s roles and special attacks.
In addition to these three Pokémon, three more are confirmed to be coming to Pokémon UNITE throughout September, but they have not officially revealed nor have the dates they will be released.
In other news, for up to five days during the event period, players will be able to receive a special Pokémon Unite license and Holowear set when they log in, unless they already have it, in which case they will receive 100 Aeos for each they already own. They will be available from Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 08:00 a.m. BST to Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 00:59 a.m. BST, and will include:
- Day 1: Pikachu + Fashionable Style: Pikachu
- Day 2: Lucario + Concert Style: Lucario
- Day 3: Blastoise + Firefighter Style: Blastoise
- Day 4: Snorlax + Bedtime Style: Snorlax
- Day 5: Sylveon + Checkered Style: Sylveon
A special Anniversary Cake Challenge will also be available to celebrate Pokémon UNITE’s first anniversary from Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 08:00 a.m. BST to Friday, September 2, 2022, at 00:59 a.m. BST, during which players can receive frosting for logging in, battling, and completing missions. This frosting can be used to complete the anniversary cake and receive various rewards.
For a limited time as well, players can take part in Pokémon UNITE‘s first PvE-style-quick-battle event, in which they will need to work together to defend powerful Boss Pokémon that appear one after another. The team with the higher score in the Boss Rush rankings will receive better rewards. The periods for the event are as follows:
- Period 1: Thursday, July 21, 2022 – Sunday, July 24, 2022
- Period 2: Sunday, July 31, 2022 – Sunday, August 7, 2022
- Period 3: Sunday, August 14, 2022 – Sunday, August 21, 2022
Finally, Pokémon UNITE has also announced a new feature in which players can receive Pokémon boost emblems that can be redeemed for energy rewards and come in gold, silver, and bronze. Season 9 of the will also begin on July 21 and will feature various special Holowear for Pikachu, Wigglytuff, Blastoise, and many others.
