The Predator prequel Prey is coming to Hulu this August after we got our first in-depth look at its trailer. While it is a fresh take on the character for fans, it is also breaking a new record. It will be the first feature-length movie on a streaming platform to be available in the Comanche language.
The trailer gives vibes of the survival elements in films like The Revenant, that is, until an invisible figure kills a bear and lifts it. That’s right; it is the Predator. From there, the trailer goes from the day in the life of Native Americans to a survival horror flick.
Behind the Predator With the Cast and Crew of Prey
Amber Midthunder (Hell or High Water) leads the Predator prequel, Prey, for Hulu. She stars alongside Dane DiLiegro (American Horror Stories) and Stefany Mathias (Pathfinder). For their acting debuts, it will star Stormee Kipp and Dakota Beavers.
Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) will direct the film with writer Patrick Aison (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) by his side to pen the script. Marc Toberoff, Ben Rosenblatt, and Lawrence Gordon will executive produce. John Davis, Marty P. Ewing, John Fox, and Jhane Myers will produce.
The film came together from the merger between Fox and Disney. While the spotlight was on how Marvel would gain the X-Men, other IPs were coming through like The Simpsons, Alien, and Predator. The more Disney-friendly property when to Disney Plus, like The Simpsons. Meanwhile, more violent and mature content, like a prequel to Predator with Prey, went to Hulu. As expected, due to the relationship between Predator and Alien, the latter is getting work done too for the service.
