Jay Briscoe’s death was unexpected news. The wrestling champion never lived to begin life at 40—he was only 38 years old. Many are yet to come to terms with the new reality— that Briscoe’s death happened. The Ring of Hour tag team star was ranked one of the best in his leagues for two decades.
Jay teamed up with his brother, Mark, to establish the tag team, “The Briscoe Brothers.” They began as teenagers, Jay, 18, and the latter, 17, but remained persistent, emerging victorious in numerous competitions.
But all that came to an abrupt end, not because he retired, nor did the brothers fall apart. The reason is that one-half of “The Briscoe Brothers” was involved in a ghastly accident.

What Caused Jay Briscoe’s Death?
The ROH champion was in a vehicle in Laurel, Maryland, when he collided with another automobile. Unfortunately, more than one life was lost. Jay was in the car with his daughter, but she survived the crash. But her father and a woman in the other automobile passed away.
The All Elite Wrestling CEO Tony Khan broke the sad news via Twitter. Even though details of the wrestler’s family are not in the public domain, Khan shared that he will support them at this time.
Many have taken to social media platforms to mourn the ROH Hall of Fame champion. Tommy Dreamer, Velvet Sky, and Taz made public their grief. Triple H ( Paul Levesque), a Fourteen-time world champion, paid tribute to the deceased while reaching out to his family. Via his tweet, he wrote:
Jay Briscoe, born Jamin Pugh, was a man who never took his family and loved ones for granted. The deceased professional wrestler shielded them from the eagle-eyed public. He chooses only to share very little about his kids. In 2013, he was involved in a controversy after declaring that he would gun down whoever teaches his kids about same-sex marriage.
